About Me
I believe there is a sacredness to life’s threshold moments—times of change, loss, and mystery—and I feel called to walk alongside others during these passages.
My name is Kimberly Stowers, and I’m the founder of The Other Shore Life Services. My work is rooted in a deep commitment to presence, compassion, and spiritual care. I support individuals and families facing transitions related to aging, illness, death, and grief. My clients include adult children caring for aging parents, individuals preparing for their own death, and those seeking emotional or spiritual grounding in times of uncertainty.
My path has been shaped by both scholarship and spiritual practice. I hold a Ph.D. in Cognitive and Experimental Psychology and have completed extensive training in trauma-informed care, death and dying, and end-of-life support. I’m also a practitioner in the Plum Village tradition of mindfulness, where I received the Dharma name Healing River of the Heart.
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that healing doesn’t mean fixing—it means witnessing. My approach is not to rescue or rush, but to accompany with calm, sacred presence and to hold space for whatever needs to unfold.
Whether I’m helping someone plan for the end of life, sitting at a bedside in vigil, or simply listening deeply to the needs of a person in crisis, I bring an open heart, intuitive listening, and a belief in the resilience of the human spirit.
I welcome you here—just as you are.
